Acid water contributes to a leading of trace amounts of lead, iron & copper from metal plumbing. This results in corrosion problems and stains with copper plumbing, or reddish stains with galvanized iron plumbing. For acid water, the pH number describes the degree of acidity. As the pH number decreases, the degree of acidity increases a pH of 7 is neutral, above 7 is alkaline.
