SulfateSulfate occurs naturally in drinking water. Reports of extremely high concentrations of Sulfate in drinking water-causing diarrhea when ingested create a health concern. Of particular concern are for those of the general population who are at greater risk from the laxative affects of Sulfate caused by an abrupt change in the consumption of Sulfate levels. One potentially sensitive group is infants receiving their first bottles containing tap water.
