Do you accept samples from the general public?

Mostly. At this time we are not accepting cannabis samples from the general public. Other samples may be submitted by the general public. We encourage homeowners to submit water samples. Please contact us for more information.

How do you get my sample? Do I mail it, drop it off or schedule a pick up?

This depends upon what type of sample you have. Food samples can be dropped off or mailed in. Water samples can be dropped off or mailed in depending on which tests will be performed. Cannabis samples require a pick up to be scheduled. For questions about a specific type of sample or your unique situation, please contact us before sending any samples.

How long does it take to get results?

This will vary depending on how many tests are requested and what tests they are. Typically, we strive for no more than two week turnaround time. Certain samples will require more or less time to complete testing.

How do I know I can trust your laboratory?

Northeast Laboratories is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory. This accreditation requires the operation of a laboratory quality management system that helps ensure valid results for all of our departments. Our laboratory also has many certifications including the following through the state of Connecticut: Environmental Laboratory Certification, Public Health Laboratories Registration, Approved Milk Laboratory Certification, and Controlled Substance Laboratory. Additionally, we are registered with the FDA. Furthermore, we have a staff of trained scientists that at minimum have a bachelor's degree but many have additional education. Staff are required to pass demonstrations of capability before completing tests on their own. We complete proficiency testing for all of our provided services.
